Angus to modernize Sterlington plant Gov. Bobby Jindal returned to northeast Louisiana Thursday to announce another major development on the economic front.
Jindal joined Angus Chemical officials in Sterlington to announce the company will modernize its manufacturing facility to help retain 174 jobs. Major investments for the modernization include the construction of a new electrical substation and upgrades to the facility's electrical system, a $10.8 million capital investment.
Earlier this week, Jindal joined CenturyLink officials to announce an expansion project that would create 850 new jobs over the next several years.
"Today's announcement (at Angus) means continued jobs and opportunities for northeast Louisiana and underscores the importance of our strategic investments to retain businesses and industries," Jindal said. "Dow Louisiana has long been one of the largest, most important employers in our state, and this $10.8 million modernization project will ensure that Dow and Angus continue to be a major part of our economy for years to come."For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
