Children's parade to roll again Fred Huenefeld never dreamed the Fourth of July children's parade long Monroe's prestigious Pargoud Boulevard would span 20-plus years and draw more than 1,000 people to a north Monroe neighborhood each year.
When he took charge of the annual parade, Huenefeld had a pickup truck loaded with watermelons and about 50 followers. Last year, about 1,500 people brought their children to the parade to celebrate July 4th.
