This Fourth of July holiday weekend, local law enforcement agencies will be out in full force looking to crack down on impaired drivers.

Trooper Mark Dennis with State Police Troop F said safety and sober driving is the No. 1 priority for law enforcement agencies this weekend.

He said automobile accidents during holiday weekends that involve serious injuries and fatalities historically are attributed to impaired drivers.

"Holidays are a time for fun and sometimes can lead to consuming substances that cause impaired driving," Dennis said. "This July 4th holiday, enjoy the festivities and help make this a safe holiday."
