Panthers use summer to improve

Staying busy and improving through summer league games and team camps is the norm for many athletes across Ouachita Parish. That certainly holds true for the Sterlington High School basketball team through the month of June.

Sterlington is one of several local teams playing in the University of Louisiana-Monroe team camp this week at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. Sterlington played Richwood on the first day of competition Monday. Ouachita Christian School is also participating in the three day camp.

"It is good for us," Sterlington head coach Kevin Cabellero said. "It gives you perspective about where you are and what you need to improve on."
