Local baseball teams play on

While many in Ouachita Parish may focus on the coming football season, athletes in other sports stay busy during the summer months preparing for their own upcoming seasons.

Baseball teams from across the region play as many as 25 summer league games in the month of June. West Ouachita and Ouachita Christian School will host high school tournaments later this month.

Ouachita Parish High School has been known to host a tournament every summer — but this year the Lions have been put on the road all of June because of ongoing renovations to Lions Field.
