How many of you remember the movie, "Out Of Africa" with Meryle Streep and Robert Redford ? I thought I was in Africa. Flying over the rivers and fields, ridding around the land, magnificent  crops of corn and soy beans, needing a rain, irrigating, cotton damaged by water that had seeped under the Mississippi River Levee, ten thousand acres of prime corn, lost to the breaking of the second levee and maybe a loss of all the land, to the river forever.
 
The agony and the ecstasy  of  the Mississippi River and the Delta. The river gives and the river takes, the Lord gives and the Lord takes! My old friend SUZANNE BROWN WOLFF, invited me to tag along with her to Lake Providence to check on her land, crops and family. This whole adventure to beautiful Lake Providence could have been the making of a movie! Out from town, in the country, it was like going back in time as we pulled up to the old family home place, that is surrounded by thousands of acres of prime family farm land.

JO ANN and MICHAEL BROWN, Suzanne's brother and sister in law greeted us. That screen could have been out of the movie and the last seen of "GIANT" with Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson, when they were older. Jo Ann and Michael have three handsome sons, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. All three young men farm with their father, fourth generation.
