Bond sale garners 3.52 interest rate

Ouachita Parish Schools secured one of the best interest rates its bond counsel has seen in years when the parish school board agreed Tuesday to move forward with a $9.8 million bond sale to finance renovation work at eastern Ouachita schools.

The parish School Board acted on the bond sale at its regular meeting. The board voted to select the low bidder of Vining Sparks for the sale of the first series of eastern Ouachita Parish school bonds.

Vining Sparks bid a 3.52 percent interest rate on the indebtedness.
