Life changes, good memories don't
The towns of Crowville, Tallulah and Winnsboro have had a notable influence on my life. Winnsboro was the first place that Momma and Daddy lived as husband and wife. The girl cousins played right along with the boy cousins when it came to football. Grandmother's side yard was the football field. Back then it seemed as though the field was quite large, but now when you look back on it, it probably was no longer than 15 yards, maybe shorter. But it was plenty big enough for a Sunday afternoon bowl game. It seemed that the Payne clan always had athletic ability so it did not make any difference who you picked. They could all run. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition!
