New Sterlington school ready for teachers

The new Sterlington Elementary School is ready for classroom materials and equipment to be moved into the facility so the school can officially open in August.

Ouachita Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Bob Webber expects teachers will begin moving their items into their classroom probably in early August. However, he said some teachers like to get a head start and begin classroom preparations before that time.

"We're running the air conditioner there this summer from about 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., so they can move in anytime if they want to get with their principals," Webber said. "Some are already moving in."
