Cedar Creek students and faculty will have a new leader when the 2011-12 school year begins.

After more than 10 years in the job Connie Bradford, current school head, will retire on July 1 and Linda Bass, currently a professor and chair of the department of education at Ouachita Baptist University, will take the reins.

According to a release by Cedar Creek board members, Bass brings a vast array of skills and extensive experience in the field of education.

Bass received her Bachelor's of Arts in Education from Louisiana State University at Shreveport. She also earned a Master's of Education in Educational Leadership from LSU-Shreveport, and earned her Master's of Education plus 30 degree and doctorate in Education in Education Administration and Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University. She holds man certifications on the sate and parish levels, and has published numerous papers in the education field.
