Tornado relief donations needed
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
A relief drive for tornado victims in Joplin, Mo., is currently being held in Ouachita Parish, and more donations are needed by Monday. The local group is loading up an 18-wheeler and there is still room to fill.

Diapers, baby food and baby supplies; personal hygiene items; cleaning supplies; non-preishable food; and bedding are all urgently needed. Please, do not donate water or clothing items; there are enough of these items already.

Donations may be brought to Chief's Hideaway Restaurant, 3091 Hwy. 80 in Calhoun. Please bring items by Monday afternoon, including all weekend. The truck leaves Tuesday morning, June 7.

To get there, take I-20 to Exit 103. Head south on Hwy. 80, about three miles. Chief's is on the left.
