Project work starts slowly Most of the construction projects scheduled to begin this summer at Ouachita Parish Schools will span through next school year since the School Board opted not to approve them until voters decided the fate of a proposal to sell $19.3 million in general obligation bonds.
Eastern Ouachita Parish voters approved the sale of up to $19.3 million in general obligation bonds during the April 30 election. The vote allowed the parish school system to incur more debt to finance construction and renovation projects at school facilities in eastern Ouachita.
