Alexander holds art contest
U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, recently announced Alan Michael Robinson of Monroe is Louisiana's 5th District winner of the 2011 Congressional High School Arts Competition.
An Artistic Discovery, which began in 1982, is a nationwide art contest that provides members of congress the opportunity to showcase the creative work of local high school students.
Robinson, a senior from Monroe, will represent the 5th District as the region's champion for his work titled, "Out of This World." He is the son of Sharon Robinson and studies art under the instruction of Janet Maxwell in the Monroe City School System.
