Delta offers certified manufacturing specialist training Louisiana Delta Community College will offer free Certified Manufacturing Specialist (CMS) training this summer.
CMS was developed by the State of Georgia in collaboration with industries in that state wanting a quality workforce. Industry was directly involved in developing the curriculum. Delta, through a licensing agreement, is able to offer the course locally.
Bob Hammack, director of Workforce Development, said, "CMS provides the basic skills required in most manufacturing jobs. Since Delta began offering the course, a number of companies have given preference to completers and some companies are now making it mandatory. Thanks to funding provided by Northeast Louisiana Workforce Centers, we will be able to provide free classes this summer on a first come, first served basis." .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
