Monroe recognizes officers as Top Cops
Monroe Police Chief Quentin Holmes Sr., and the Monroe Police Department recognize and acknowledge two of the department's officers. Cpls. Brandon Waggoner and Jeffrey Winborne received the Top Cop Award on Friday, May 20, at the Top Cop Awards Banquet, which was held at the Monroe Civic Center.
These two officers went above and beyond their call of duty on April 24, 2010.
Waggoner and Winborne were preparing to go fishing at Lake Darbonne. They had just put their boat in the water when a crashing sound behind them caught their attention.
