Construction of the new Monroe Regional Airport terminal has been delayed more than a year with a new completion date set for June 20, 2012.

The original completion date for the new terminal was May 14 of this year, but the project was delayed for 13 months due to wet weather during the start of construction. The project was delayed another six months because the Federal Aviation Administration required several cables to be moved before construction began.

Lincoln Builders of Ruston continues work on the $35.5-million project. Construction began in August 2009.
