Lions adjusting to new roles

The Ouachita Lions still remember vividly the site of the St. Augustine Purple Knights celebrating a second round Class 5A football playoff victory on the field of Lions Stadium last November.

After a six month wait, the returning Lions players got to dawn the pads again last week during spring practice. Now allowed just 10 practices during the spring session and no spring games against other teams, the Lions have had a lot of work to do.

"With the new 10 day rules, it has been tough," Ouachita head coach John Carr said. "I think we have some guys playing well. Quarterback (Quentin Wheeler) is playing well for us."
