Rise-N-Shine football camp hopes to reach more
The Rise-N-Shine Jr. Football Training Camp will be returning to the local practice fields of Ouachita Parish this summer and is currently seeking sponsorship to offset the cost of the camps.
Former West Monroe High School and University of Louisiana-Monroe player DJ Davis began the camps in 2008 as a mentoring program for local youth that would also let them improve their football and athletic abilities in the summer months while not in school.
Davis hopes that the camps will allow elementary age players the chance to see what conditioning drill at the junior high and high school level are like.
