Local dog, trainer bring home national gold West Monroe has a new national champion in the form of a little ball of energy called Breeze, a 6-year-old Shetland sheepdog.
Breeze and owner, Therese Fleming, a local dog trainer, brought home the gold during last month's annual American Shetland Sheepdog Association's agility competition, held in St. Louis, Mo.
Breeze has competed in agility for the past three years. She possesses a Master Agility Championship Title, which is the highest agility title a dog and handler team can receive. During the event in St. Louis, Breeze competed in the "Excellent Standard" and "Excellent JWW 8-inch" jump. She won "High in Trial" from the Excellent Standard Class, meaning she had the fastest time of all the dogs competing in the Excellent Standard class. In addition to the High in Trial award, she also placed first in each of her two runs for the day. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
