The Ouachita Parish Police Jury approved an expenditure of roughly $500,000 Monday for a new classroom building at Green Oaks Detention Center, but not before police jurors expressed concerns over the project.

Fourth Judicial Judge Sharon Marchman discussed the proposed classroom building with police jurors Monday during the Police Jury's regular meeting.

Marchman serves on the Green Oaks Detention Center's advisory committee.
