Organization recognizes local school volunteers
Five Ouachita Parish Schools volunteers were honored by the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana as top volunteers in the parish school system.
Mitzi Murray, president of the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana's Ouachita Parish chapter, presented the School Board with the A+PEL volunteers of the year during the School Board's meeting last week.
"Each year we ask our members and our school principals to nominate volunteers from their school, and we recognize those volunteers," Murray said.
