WM baseball ends season
A disappointing season for the West Monroe Rebel baseball team came to an end last week. The Rebels, seeking a share of the District 2-5A championship with Pineville and the playoff berth that comes with it, came up just short in their bid for the postseason.
West Monroe (12-21, 7-5) downed the Ouachita Lions, 13-3, but needed Pineville to lose to Natchitoches Central to tie for the district crown.
Pineville defeated Natchitoches Central, 9-3, keeping West Monroe out of the Class 5A baseball playoffs for the first time in decades.
