Area teams learned their baseball playoff fate Wednesday afternoon when the Louisiana High School Athletic Association released the 2011 baseball playoff brackets for Class C thru Class 4A. Three time defending Class C state champion Claiborne Christian School of West Monroe will get a first round bye and host the winner of No. 15 Epps and No. 18 Hackberry which play Friday.

The Defending Class 1A state champion Ouachita Christian School Eagles will be the No. 2 seed in the 2011 playoffs and host No. 31 Christian Life Academy from Baton Rouge on Thursday at 5 p.m.

St. Frederick will host No. 24 Haynesville on Thursday. The Warriors took second place in District 2-1A, edging OCS after taking 2-of-3 games from the Eagles earlier this season.

Class 2A features No. 21 Sterlington traveling to No. 12 Fisher on Saturday.

Class 4A will be well represented in the area as No. 10 West Ouachita hosts No. 23 Morgan City this Saturday and the No. 18 Neville Tigers will hit the road Saturday to battle No. 15 Jennings in the first round of the playoffs.
