Area softball teams advance With the Louisiana High School Athletic Association softball playoffs on the field this week, many local teams are keeping their state tournament hopes alive.
In Class C, the No. 4 Claiborne Christian School Lady Crusaders (11-12-1) will be hosting No. 5 St. Joeseph's-Plauchville on Saturday in the second round. CCS defeated Reeves 7-1 in their opening round game.
The Lady Crusaders are the two-time defending Class C champions. CCS is led by senior pitcher Kara Anderson, one of the state's top pitching prospects.
