Jindal honors veterans in West Monroe
Dozens of local veterans were honored Monday with the Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal during a special ceremony with Gov. Bobby Jindal.
The event was held in West Monroe at the White's Ferry Road Church of Christ.
Jindal took the opportunity Monday to thank veterans for service to their country. He hailed them as heroes, and told the crowd that veterans were people children should look up to as role models.
"These are the real heroes," Jindal said.
