Study ranks Ouachita 23rd in La.
Ouachita Parish recently ranked 23rd out of the 64 parishes in terms of overall health, according to research from the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute.
The institute, in collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, this week released the 2011 county and parish health rankings.
Each of Louisiana's 64 parishes were ranked according to its health outcomes and health factors, according to Dr. Shelley Jones, medical director of the Region 8 Office of Public Health, which includes Ouachita Parish.
