Out of the ivory places ....
Henry Barraclaugh lifted our title phrase from Psalms 45:8 and wrote a song much loved by many. He uses this expression "Out of the Ivory palaces, into a world of woe" in reference to our Lord's leaving heaven to come into this sinful world.
Perhaps it would be a good idea for us to use these words in still another way…in reference to our church buildings, our assemblies, our pulpits and our fellowship.
