So many moments to remember

My daddy was very special to me. He was special to a lot of people. My daddy has been gone for 53 years.

The time seems like a thousand years, but at times it appears like only yesterday. I do miss him. I learned so much from him. Not saying that we did not bump heads a lot. He could make me mad. Daddy was a strong disciplinarian. He seldom got his discipline wrong.

One moment that I remember quite fondly, even though it did not seem so affectionate at the time, had to do with shopping at Sears and Roebucks. I am sure it happened somewhere in the 1950s. Daddy wanted his children to show humility and respect to all people. He wanted to make sure that we did not show favoritism to anyone. In other words, he wanted us to show respect to all people regardless of their station in life.
