Blaylock assumes pharmacy dean position
The University of Louisiana-Monroe announced late last week that Dr. Benny Blaylock had been named the new College of Pharmacy dean, pending approval of the UL System Board of Supervisors.
ULM made the announcement Friday, April 8, through a news release issued to local media.
Blaylock has served as interim dean of ULM's College of Pharmacy since May.
Blaylock took over as interim dean several weeks after Pharmacy dean Greg Leader was found deceased in a Vicksburg hotel.
Blaylock, who arrived at ULM in 1992, joined the biology department and eventually moved to the toxicology department in 1993. He has served as Director of Research and Graduate Studies for the College of Pharmacy, department head for the Department of Toxicology, and associate dean for Operations, Technology and Graduate Programs for the College of Pharmacy.
