Monroe chamber endorses tax propositions
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce's board of directors recently voted to endorse three property tax measures the Ouachita Parish School Board placed on the April 30 ballot.
Two of the tax renewals are district-wide, while one will be voted on solely by eastern Ouachita Parish voters.
The two district-wide taxes are 10-year renewals of existing property taxes. The two renewals provide for maintenance and operations for the parish school system.
One of the tax propositions is a half-cent sales tax that is levied in School Sales Tax District No. 1 for support of the school system.
