The Points of Light Institute honored Ruth Beavers, a St. Francis Medical Center Volunteer and Auxiliary member, late last week as a recipient of the National Daily Point of Light Award.
A celebration and award presentation was held Friday at the St. Francis Medical Center Conference Center.

The Daily Point of Light Award is administered through the Point of Light Institute on behalf of the White House to honor volunteers who have made a commitment to help meet critical needs in their communities.

The program was established by the administration of former President George H.W. Bush as part of a movement to engage all individuals, families, businesses, groups, and organizations in America to solve community problems. Daily Point of Light honorees join an esteemed group of volunteers since only 260 out 3,000 applicants are awarded this prestigious honor each year.
