Softball teams rise to occasion

As the final week of the regular season approaches for area high school softball teams, not much has changed in the playoff scenarios that each team is keeping a close watch on.

In Class C, Claiborne Christian School remains No. 5 in the power ranking projections. The Lady Crusaders dropped three games and won one in the Caldwell Tournament played at Caldwell Parish High School over the weekend.

Jena defeated CCS, 3-0. CCS then bounced back with a 1-0 win over Florien before falling to Class 4A Grant, 4-3, and 2A Menard, 4-1.
