The issue of redrawing district lines for Ouachita Parish Police Jury districts resulted in some impromptu map viewing and a bit of heated discussion Monday during the Police Jury's regular meeting.

For about a year, Police Juror Mack Calhoun has lobbied for the Police Jury to begin tackling redrawing district lines.

On Monday, he brought the issue to a head by introducing an ordinance calling on the Police Jury to adopt a proposed new parish district map devised by the North Delta Regional Planning and Development District.
