The Monroe Police Department has established a new no-cost business watch program to assist businesses with criminal activity in their area.

Cpl. Dennis Wall said the police department hopes to create a working relationship with each business and establish a network of information about criminal trends in the business community.

The first-ever Monroe police business watch meeting will be held beginning at 10 a.m. and beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the public safety building located off U.S. 165 in southern Monroe.
