SAR honors responders
The James Huey Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at BBQ West Restaurant at 4900 Cypress St. The NSSAR Bronze Emergency Medical Service Award will be presented to Lance Smithson, EMT and Fireman from West Monroe Fire Department. He is being honored for his off-duty rescue of choking victim, Sandie Winters in January.
The program will be given by compatriot, Chuck Rand who will speak about his patriot ancestor, "Lt. Thomas Semmes.
