Jackson makes case for OCC property tax Ouachita Parish Police Juror Charles Jackson has been busy over the past several months talking to anyone who'll listen about a property tax proposition for Ouachita Correctional Center that voters will entertain in the April 30 election.
The Police Jury voted last month to place a proposed 11.3-mill property tax for OCC on the April 30 ballot.
If approved by voters, the 11.3-mill property tax would generate roughly $9.8 million annually. The proposed 11.3-mill property tax represents an increase of 2.1 mills over the current 9.2-mill property tax that's levied for OCC.
