Spelling bee Friday

On Friday, 48 students from schools across Ouachita Parish will work to conquer their nerves and show what they know in the 20th annual All Parish Spelling Bee.

The participating students are winners of school-level spelling bees who have advanced to the next level in hopes of winning a trip to the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., in May.

The 48 participants are fourth- through eighth-graders in private, parochial, public and home schools across Ouachita Parish.

The event will be held at Wossman High School 's auditorium, Friday, March 4. Registration begins at 8:30, the bee begins at 9:00.

The winner of this All-Parish Spelling Bee will advance to the National Spelling bee.
