Denham Springs ends Lions' year
While the Ouachita Lions basketball team will miss the playoffs for the first time in 11 years, the Lady Lions continued in the Class 5A girls basketball playoffs at before falling to No. 2 Denham Springs, 55-18.
Ouachita advanced past the first round with a 47-37 win over defending Class 5A champion, the Natchitoches Central Lady Chiefs.
The District 2-5A rivals battled in "The Lions Den" for the third time this season. The game was close for much of the first three quarters, but pressure defense by the Lady Lions broke open late in the third quarter.
