Population losses take toll
Population data revealed by the 2010 Census indicated Ouachita Parish's three state Senate districts will need to be realigned.
The Ouachita Citizen recently obtained population data for the parish's three Senate districts. Population data for Ouachita Parish's state House districts were not immediately available.
Senate District 33, represented by Sen. Mike Walsworth, R-West Monroe, has an actual population of 110,088. That's 6,152 residents less than the Legislature's ideal population of 116,240 for the district.
