Local Mardi Gras activities kick off this weekend with a slate of events lined up for the Twin Cities.

The Krewe of Janus parade will roll at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19. The parade route begins at Natchitoches and 8th streets in West Monroe, then turns and follows Trenton Street to the bridge and follows Louisville Avenue to Breard Street.

This year's parade features 20 floats, 10 high school bands, and ULM's band.
