The Ouachita Parish Police Jury hired North Delta Regional Planning and Economic Development District to redraw its district lines in light of the 2010 Census.

The Police Jury is required to redistrict the precincts of the parish as well as the six Police Jury districts to reflect changes in population following the U.S. Census count, which occurs every 10 years. The second round of 2010 Census data was released late last week.

Police Juror Mack Calhoun brought up redistricting Monday during the Police Jury's regular meeting. It was approved unanimously to hire North Delta to redraw the Police Jury's districts.
