Need a heart transplant?
The term "heart transplant" is very common today…but it has not always been so. I well remember the first heart transplant in the world. It was done by Dr. Christian Bernard of Cape Town, South Africa, in December 1967. As missionaries in South Africa, we were very interested in that "Unbelievable" occasion. Today, we hear of many kinds and degrees of "Heart Trouble"…ranging from irregular heartbeat to the trauma of heart transplant.
But, actually, I'm not getting into the physical heart trouble…leading to a change of our physical heart…but another kind of "Heart Trouble". I am here concerned with the kind of heart trouble our Lord was addressing when he said: "Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me." (John 14:1).
In this statement the Lord makes two things very clear. One-whether or not we have "troubled hearts: is up to us. That's why he said "Do not let your heart be troubled"…"Believe God…believe also in me." .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition!
