Food Bank receives donation ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston recently presented the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana with $5,157, which will in turn provide 30,942 pounds of food to local families in need. The money was raised during the "Get Sweet. Our Treat." promotion held in conjunction with the grand opening of the new Lamb Weston sweet potato processing plant in Delhi.
The promotion included a canned food drive at the Louisiana State Fair, free sweet potato fries sampling events at 150 restaurants spanning from Monroe to Jackson, Miss., and a Facebook campaign. Lamb Weston pledged 10 cents for every free serving of fries given away and $1 for every Facebook fan.
Richard King, executive director of Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, Helene Clark, director of marketing at Lamb Weston, and Stacey Guidry, program director at Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, were on hand for the check presentation. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
