Panthers hope to play games over weekend
The Sterlington Panthers and Lady Panthers are scheduled to be back in District 2-2A action this week, but due to an officials' work strike, the games may not be played as scheduled.
A dispute over a pay raise for LHSAA officials has caused officials from Monroe and several other parishes to refuse to work games this week until a resolution between the LHSAA and the Louisiana High School Officials Association can be reached.
Many teams, including Sterlington postponed their Tuesday match-ups and will attempt to play games on Thursday and Saturday this week.
