Former Richwood Mayor Ed Harris was sentenced Monday to five years supervised probation stemming from his conviction on one count of malfeasance in office.

Sentencing was held in 4th Judicial District Court. Judge Wilson Rambo sentenced Harris to five years of hard labor, but that sentence was suspended in lieu of five years supervised probation. He also was ordered to pay back the town of Richwood roughly $65,000.

In October, a six-person Ouachita Parish jury found Harris guilty of one count of malfeasance in office.
