The Ouachita Parish Police Jury must decide at its next regular meeting whether to call an election in April for a proposed millage increase for Ouachita Correctional Center.

In order for the matter to be placed on the April ballot, the state Bond Commission must sign off on it at its March meeting. The deadline for placing items on the state Bond Commission's March agenda is early February.

"By the next meeting, we will need to make a final decision," said Police Juror Charles Jackson.
