Crime down in Monroe in 2010 Monroe city officials announced on Wednesday that overall crime was down 1.61 percent for the year 2010.
There was a reduction in number of rapes, robberies and auto thefts in 2010, according to city officials.
"Public Safety is one of our key focus areas. As we continue to recruit, expand, and start new businesses, a reduction in crime helps to improve our city image and overall quality of life for residents.
