MFD heads search, rescue initiative
The state Fire Marshal's office will establish the Region 8 Urban Search and Rescue initiative to provide rescue services throughout northeast Louisiana.
The Monroe Fire Department will serve as the host department for the new initiative.
The Region 8 Urban Search and Rescue team will protect and respond to natural and man-made disasters and emergencies in Ouachita, Union, Lincoln, Jackson, Caldwell, Richland, Morehouse, Franklin, East and West Carroll, Madison and Tensas parishes.
