Boardings increase in 2010
Monroe Regional Airport experienced an increase in the number of passengers during 2010, according to Monroe city officials.
Airport director Cleve Norrell said there were 14,545 more passengers over the last 12 months, which was an increase of 17 percent, compared with the same period in 2009.
Total passenger count for 2010 was 101,722. The total passenger count was 87,177 air travelers in 2009.
"The passenger increase in 2010 is exciting news," Norrell said. "We believe that our efforts and more competitive airfares will help us continue this growth in passenger enplanements in 2011."
