The Ouachita Parish School Board approved a pilot program to pay teachers up to $200 as an incentive not to miss time from their classrooms.

Action was taken Tuesday during the School Board's regular meeting.

Ouachita Parish Schools recently dropped to 14th in the statewide ranking of District Performance Scores, which includes information regarding attendance, standardized test scores and drop-out and graduation rates. Last year, Ouachita Parish Schools was ranked eighth in the state. The school system was ranked in the top five for several years during the past decade.
